This book features black and white photographs of unmarked graves from throughout New Mexico taken by Richard Baron. Each image is paired with a fictional vignette incorporating historical elements of the grave's location. A sample can be found HERE.

Richard Baron grew up in El Paso, Texas, graduating from El Paso High School in 1966. He took photographs for over 50 years, his work encompassing everything from the mystery of fire to the prostitutes of the notorious (and now demolished) Boys' Town of Ciudad Juárez. His pictures have been shown around the world, including at museums in New York, San Francisco, and London. His final exhibition, a collection of black and white images entitled "The Empire of Texas," was shown at the El Paso Museum of Art in the spring of 2018. According to his wishes, his ashes are spread in northern New Mexico.

John Mulhouse is a writer and photographer whose popular City of Dust project documents forgotten places throughout the U.S. and around the world. Since 2009 his work has focused primarily on the historic villages and ghost towns of New Mexico. He is the author of "A Loss for Words & Other Stories: Excerpts from 10 Years of City of Dust," a collection of writing which, somewhat uncharacteristically, does not include many abandoned buildings.
